Why 15% L-Ascorbic Acid?

With Vitamin C, more is not always better. Concentration matters.

HEDO L.F.E.G is formulated with 15% pure L-Ascorbic Acid, a concentration within the scientifically supported performance range for topical Vitamin C.

Research supports topical L-Ascorbic Acid concentrations within approximately 10% to 20%. Foundational research found that increasing concentrations beyond 20% did not demonstrate greater skin absorption under the conditions studied.

At 15%, HEDO L.F.E.G is designed to balance potency and tolerability without simply increasing the percentage for the sake of a higher number.

Why pH Matters

The effectiveness of L-Ascorbic Acid depends on more than concentration. Its formulation environment matters too.

HEDO L.F.E.G is formulated at a pH of 3.0 to 3.5. Published research has shown that an acidic environment below approximately pH 3.5 is important for effective skin uptake of L-Ascorbic Acid.
